She gave birth to her second child exactly two months ago.  

And Rosamund Pike proved she has no hang ups about her post-pregnancy figure as she slipped into a mini-dress to attend the Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon on Monday.

The Best Actress nominee, 36, put her toned arms and pins on show as she arrived to The Beverly Hilton Hotel for the Hollywood bash.

3The Gone Girl star - who welcomed her second son with partner Robie Uniacke on December 2 - flashed a wide grin as she made paces down the red carpet. 

Her wavy crop of blonde hair was worn down in a relaxed and silky hairdo, and she kept her make-up fresh and natural with a light pink lip.

She completed her radiant make-up with a swipe of coral blush and plenty of mascara to highlight her piercing eyes.

Finishing off her look were a pair of strappy nude heels that gave her 5ft9in a lift.

The Academy Awards won't happen until the end of the month, but there's plenty of swish events for the nominees to attend ahead of the big night.

Rosamund will be competing against nominees Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Marion Cotillard, and Felicity Jones for the Best Actress statute on February 22.

The mother-of-two was recognised for her portrayal of Amy Dunne in Gone Girl, in which she plays a young woman who mysteriously vanishes. 

The resulting media frenzy and attention ultimately suspect her husband (Ben Affleck) is the murderer. 

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal about her morally ambiguous character, Rosamund explained why Amy has divided so many audience members.

'If that’s the reaction, then I think I’ve done my job OK as a sociopath. The one characteristic that seems common to me among sociopaths is they divide opinion, and they deliberately divide opinion,' Rosamund told the publication.

She added: 'So, Amy likes people to disagree about her because any sociopath does because it gives them power.'

Rosamund has been recognised with a Golden Globe and SAG nomination for her work in the thriller, and on Sunday night she snapped up the main prize - the Virtuoso Award - at the Santa Barbara Film Festival.

However, even with a new born at home, Rosamund's star continues to soar.   

The actress has numerous films in the pipeline, including a role in the thriller Return To Sender, which also stars Rumer Willis and will hit U.S. cinemas later this year.
