Michelle Heaton spent a whooping two days getting ready for the National Television Awards.

She started prepping on Tuesday but it wasn't until the late hours of Wednesday afternoon that the 35-year-old emerged from a beauty salon finally ready to go to the ball.

'On my way to the #nta,' the undoubtedly exhausted star posted on her Twitter account.

The Liberty X singer was clearly aware of the excessive efforts she gone to for her flawless red carpet look as she had been filming herself the entire time.

Michelle explained to her loyal army of fans that she would later use the footage to create a short film – called 'Get Ready With Me' – to show them what goes into getting ready for the NTAs.

'Don't forget to check it out on my @YouTube channel "Michelle Heaton in reality",' the singer announced on Instagram.

'The video will be uploaded later this evening. Thank you to all involved.'

Michelle kicked off her NTA makeover by getting a Vita Liberata spray tan. She then turned her attention to her nails and headed over to a salon to get a Calgel manicure and pedicure.

On Wednesday morning, she paid a visit to a local hairdresser and got her locks dyed a glossier shade of brown.

Later that day, the brunette beauty completed her preparations by visiting makeup artist Kellyann Lundon to give her that extra special red carpet look.

Hours after she arrived, Michelle finally emerged from Kellyann's salon in a stunning Pia Michi strapless dress.

The dangerously low cut gown showed off her cleavage while the tight fit highlighted Michelle's petite toned frame.

The National Television Awards will be aired live on ITV1, Wednesday at 7.30pm.
